What to expect over the next 4 weeks
Welcome To The Become A Roboticist In One Month Challenge
The key idea is to form a daily habit of doing robotics. Over the next 4 weeks we will have daily tasks that you can do to build your capability as a roboticist.
Show Your Work
A core principle for this course is to show your work as you go. I'll be encouraging you to post on LinkedIN your daily work. This will help you build your profile and also form the key accountability of the course. To be successful you need to publish every day.
How Much Time? 1 Hour Per Day
I'm designing this course to require about 1 hour per day, every day, for 28 days. It's the only way to Become a Roboticist in such a short amount of time.
What You Need?
We will be using Windows 11, Docker, Ubuntu inside of Docker, VS Code, FreeCAD and Blender.
You'll need the ability to do basic coding, understanding python and Markup languages like XML.
Ok, Whats the Plan?
Here is our roadmap:
Week 0: Get Setup
Get your computer ready to do robotics. The challenge won't officially start but there will be some work to be done.
Week 1: Extend the Krytn Robot
In week 1 we will look at the Krytn delivery robot. It will provide a template for building autonomous differential drive robots.
Week 2: Extend the MACI Robot
In week 2 we will look at the MACI robot arm. It will provide a template for doing robot arm projects.
Week 3: Start your own robot
In week 3 you will identify and begin work on your own robot build, based upon an existing commercial robot you identify.
Week 4: Finish your robot
In week 4 you will put the finishing touches on your robot. And as you will have built your own robot, you will have become a roboticist.
